GOAN FOLK DANCE
Afolk dance is developed by people that reflect the life of the people of a certain country or region. Not all ethnic dances are folk dances .The term "ethnic" and "traditional" are used whrn it os required to emphasize the culuture roots of the dance.
1. The DALO
Its an ancient Goan folk dance performed prodominantly by women which combines dances, drama and music. Women dressed in colourfull sarees stand in two rows fcing eachother and dance to the tune of meledious folk dance.
2.GOFF DANCE
Goff is performed during the Shigmo festival, a group of men move from house to house performing this dance . Colourful ropes are suspended from the roof of the matov. Each dancer holds one rope and to the rythym of the song. Performs the dance twining the ropes in the process to form a cord.Then they performe reversethe movements to untwin the rope.

3. DIWLI NACH
Its a dance a performed during Shigmo (spring festival) while balancing on oil -lamp with 5 lite wicks on the head without any support .The trick is not tilt or topple the lamp during the dancethroughba great amount of concentration is required tonperform this task,the dancer go about it very naturally and gracefully.
